Legal cohabitation can be declared only between parties who are not bound by marriage or another cohabitation and are legally entitled to enter into a contract (art. 1123 and 1124 of the Civil Code ). This declaration in writing (provided with acknowledgement of receipt ) should feature the date of the declaration, the surnames, first names, places and dates of birth of the two parties and their signature, common home, a reference to the willingness of the two parties to cohabit, a reference to the fact that the parties are acquainted with articles 1475 to 1479 of the Civil Code and, where appropriate, a reference to a contract executed before a notary and concluded between the parties to meet the legal requirements for legal cohabitation.
An appointment should be made in advance with the department on Tel. N° 010/42.08.39 or 010/42.08.40.
